After the island hopping fiasco, we continued our day with the land tour. We spent approx PHP 2,500 for everything. It was a little after lunch when our driver, Ruel, picked us up from our hotel. He then drove us to Carmen for us to take our lunch on a raft while circling Loboc River.

Island Hopping Gone Wrong
I finally found time to catch up on my blogging. I have a lot of adventures to share but I think this is the first thing I need to write about. Right now, because of COVID-19, we are currently on enhanced community quarantine and Luzon is under lockdown. Before the announcement of the lockdown, I managed to take a short trip to Bohol. The original 5-day trip turned into a 3 days, 2 nights trip. We arrived in Panglao late afternoon on a Thursday. The same night, our president announced that Luzon will have a lockdown and all domestic flights will be suspended until further notice. Hearing this, we quickly rebooked our flights and planned out the rest of the trip. The lockdown begins after 72 hours. We could have booked the earliest flight back but we decided that since we were already there, we might as well make the most out of our trip. We turned our two day itinerary into a day. Let me tell you about our island hopping trip first.
A Race Against the Rapids
The reason why we went chose Cagayan De Oro as our travel destination becomes apparent in this post: we went for the white water rafting experience! We did the beginner’s course which consisted of 14 rapids.
30 Hours in Camiguin
For this trip, we got the CDO-Dahilayan Bukidnon-Camiguin Island Tour package from Buhangin Travel and Tours. We paid around PHP 5,000 per pax for 6 people. Inclusive of the following:
- Airport Transfers
- Van transfer from CDO to Dahilayan Bukidnon and back
- Van transfer to and from Balingoan Port
- Multicab for our countryside tour in Camiguin
- White Island entrance fee and pump boat fee
- Mantigue Island with entrance fee and pump boat fee
- Dahilayan Forest Park with entrance fee
- White Water Rafting Lower Section (includes all rafting equipment)
- Jeepney transfer from hotel to rafting site and back
I’ll tell you about our Camiguin experience first.
A Weekend Around The City of Smiles
Despite being famous for its Chicken Inasal and yearly Masskara Festival, Bacolod was one of the places that I haven’t thought of going to, until this year.
Siargao Day 4: Escaping Daylight and Chasing the Sunset
Day 4 was our last whole day in Siargao. Of course, we knew we had to maximize our stay. We had our whole day planned out with the help of Gladys from @gosiargaotours. Our morning was dedicated for Corregidor Island. During the afternoon, we had Magpupungko, Alegria Beach and sunset watching at Santa Monica Pier planned out. At night, it was party time!
Siargao Day 3: One Island to Another
For our third day, we joined a tour that went to a total of 4 places: Sohoton Cove, Naked Island, Guyam Island and Daku Island.
Siargao Day 2: Paddle Boarding and Stories Over Beer
For our second day, we joined Bravo’s tour to Sugba Lagoon and Kawhagan Island.
Siargao Day 1: Chilling and Walking Around
My friends and I booked a 5-day trip to Siargao. I initially thought that 5 days on the island was too long. It was when I got there that I realized, 5 days is not enough. My next blog posts will be dedicated on how I fell in love with the island.
Coron Island Tour
The next tour was the Coron Island Tour. This is a more adventurous tour and the places are all near Busuanga Island therefore there wasn’t much travel time via boat.
Here are the destinations: Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Balinsasayaw Reef, Beach 91, Malwawey Reef, Skeleton Wreck and CYC Beach.
